BEN ROGERSON

In 2009 Ben became the first person to sail unassisted nonstop single handed around the UK and Ireland in a boat only 21 feet in length.

Ben is now looking to secure funding for a unique campaign to compete in the Mini Transat Race, widely regarded as the most extreme single handed transatlantic race.

At 26 Ben is one of the UK’s most promising solo sailing stars of the future, embarking on a unique campaign for the Mini Transat, the proving ground of the great present day solo sailors.

“Since I was 15 I have been determined to race in the Mini. I set about gaining as much experience as I could in the relevant areas of the industry. Building a strong and Comprehensive sailing CV, from winning Europeans in small Keelboat Classes to racing on premiere race boats such as TP52 and the Maxi Alegre. Whilst also studying Yacht design and building boats for some top Americas Cup and Open 60 teams. In 2009 I kick started my campaign by chartering a Mini in return for a comprehensive refit and in August 2009 I successfully sailed unassisted nonstop single handed around the UK becoming the first person to do so in a boat so small.

I am highly motivated and ambitious and firmly believe that I am in the best possible position to launch a Winning campaign for the Mini Transat Race.”
