As part of the build up of his campaign to compete in the Mini Transat in 2011, Ben Rogerson, with the support of Brian Thompson and many others, has successfully completed a Round Britain & Ireland Non-Stop Solo Attempt in support of and to raise awareness of the Armed Services Rehabilitation Charitable Organisation - 'Toe in the Water'.
Ben & 'Mini Minx' started at 0317 hrs UTC 10 July 2009 at a point due south of Start Point heading East About (up the English Channel) and finished at 0625 hrs UTC 25 July 2009 a total passage time of 15 days 3 hours and 8 minutes. Certainly the first time a Mini Transat 6.50m yacht has achieved this feat non-stop and solo, and we believe also the first boat of this size of any design to do so.
